Drivers along Rochester Road in Gravesend are at a standstill due to roadworks that are taking place.

The roadworks at Lion Roundabout have caused major problems with one-way traffic light control in place at at each exit.

Lower Higham Road is also seeing delays with motorists stuck in slow moving traffic.

Main roads and side roads are heavily congested and buses may be being delayed as well.

Kent County Council Highways said on Twitter: " Gravesend, Lower Higham Road & A226 Rochester Road. Road closures and parking prohibition near Lion Roundabout from 30th July to 2nd September for road improvement works.

"Lower Higham Road will be closed at junction with Lion Roundabout from 30/07/2018 to 26/08/2018. The alternative route is via A226 Rochester Road, Chalk Road and vice versa."
