Inbetweeners fans are in for a treat as the funny foursome are returning for a two-hour special celebrating 10 years since the show started.

Channel 4 announced the hapless sixth-formers will be back together for a studio show featuring behind the scenes clips, unseen footage and celebrity guests.

The original gang - Simon Bird (Will), James Buckley (Jay), Joe Thomas (Simon) and Blake Harrison (Neil) - will all be in attendance.

The award winning comedy was written by Damon Beesley, from New Barn, Longfield, who spent many of his years in and around Gravesend.

On the night there will be awards for some of the funniest moments in the series, including Best Sex Scene and Best Ever Moment.

Tom Beck, head of live events and commissioning editor for Channel 4, said: “Will, Jay, Simon and Neil spent years failing to sneak into the best parties, so I’m very pleased to throw one that they’re definitely invited to. I just hope Will brings his Mum.”

Co-executive producer of the show, Will Macdonald, said: "The love for The Inbetweeners is huge, the kind of love that Jay would boast he’s had many times – big celebrities, millions of viewers and loving fans from across the globe. And it’s so exciting the boys will be back together to feel that love from all those people and enjoy it first-hand. What could possibly go wrong?”

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here star and actor Emily Atack, who played Charlotte Hinchcliffe in the series, is also set to make an appearance after her stint down under.

Simon Wilson, from Fudge Park, who helped produce the show, said: "We can’t wait to throw The Inbetweeners the 10th Birthday Party they deserve, and we’re thrilled that the original four comedy superstars are joining us as guests of honour.”
