Generous Gravesend Indian foodstall holder raises £1,500 for Making Miracles

An Indian foodstall owner has raised £1,500 for a charity which helps deals with problematic births during one of his fundraisers.
Andy Singh collected £1,360, and contributed £140 himself, for Making Miracles after he held another one of his charity days on Saturday, April 7.
All profits made by Mr Singh, as he sold chick pea curry, samosas, onion bhajis, mixed vegetable rice and spring rolls, in the Thamesgate Shopping Centre, went to the baby trauma and bereavement care charity.
There were also musicians playing the drums and bucket collectors at the event.
Mr Singh said: “They need every single thing they can have.
“This amount is massive for them.
“This fundraiser was really good, £1,500 is quite substantial.
“It is brilliant; people come out in numbers to support the community.
“The drummers played really good music.
“Overall it was a success
“The feeling is priceless, when you do something like this put it into words, it’s incredible.
“It was great putting a smile on people faces.
I love doing it, simply love it; I get immense pleasure from it.
“I feel blessed that people are giving me the opportunity to do this and I will continue to do it.”
Making Miracles, which is four years old and also had a stall in the shopping centre during the event, thanked Mr Singh, writing on Facebook: “Thanks to Andy for all his efforts.”
The fundraiser started at 9am and finished at around 3pm when all the food sold out.
Mr Singh, who brought along three times the amount of food he usually takes for a normal service, has previously held fundraisers for the Grenfell Tower tragedy, London Fire Brigade, Kent Air Ambulance, and Kings College hospital.
Mr Singh, a prominent member of the Sikh community, is renowned around the town for his chickpea curry, pakora and samosas.
He can be found in the centre every day.
