A boy who was arrested in connection with another child’s death will face no charges.
An investigation was launched after a youngster died following an incident in Singlewell Road, Gravesend, on August 30 last year.
The emergency services, including the police, ambulance and fire crews, were called to the junction with Cross Lane West and Cross Lane East at around 5.45pm.
The force was sent following concerns for the welfare of a boy, who was then taken to the hospital, where he later died.
While trying to establish the full circumstances of the incident another boy was arrested – although officers would not confirm what it was on suspicion of.
He was bailed until today (February 14) while inquiries continued.
A police spokeswoman has now confirmed the investigation has concluded and the youngster’s cause of death is not being treated as suspicious.
The coroner is now leading the matter.
Previously, the police confirmed that both boys were under 12 but would not provide any further information.
Following the incident, a small access route which leads to garages off Cross Lane West was cordoned off and officers were stationed at the scene overnight.
Forensic officers were also spotted at the scene.
