Hundreds of people are expected to take to the streets as part of a sponsored walk in aid of a young mum with terminal cancer.

Nicola Biddiscombe, from Gravesend, was diagnosed with stage three triple negative breast cancer in April.

The 34-year-old, who works as a carer at Gravesham Community Hospital, was heavily pregnant with her third child when she received the devastating news.

Due to the aggressiveness of the cancer, chemotherapy was started immediately but as Nicola was expecting, investigations into her treatment had to be paused.

Following the birth of daughter Jasmine, the disease has now spread to her lungs, skin and liver and is now terminal.

A fundraiser was set up to support Nicola – together with partner Todd Miller and the couple's other two children, Delilah, six, and Rudi, two – in the hope of accessing life-prolonging treatment in the US. It has since amassed more than £170,000.

Now family and friends have rallied together to host a seven mile walk, followed by a fundraiser and raffle event to add to the funds.

The walk will start this Sunday at 9.30am at a pub close to Nicola's heart, The Railway Inn in Sole Street.

It will follow a route through Jeskyns Wood and onto Wrotham Road before heading back toward the pub for a midday finish.

Those attending are asked to donate £10 and wear something leopard print – Nicola's favourite – in support.

At the pub there will be a fundraiser event featuring drinks, raffle prizes and a bouncy castle for kids. Entry will cost £2 per person.

Friend Anna Page, 38, who is helping organise the event, said: "She is one of my best friends, I have known her for years and just wanted to raise some money.

"It has just gone insane, literally everyone wants to do some thing.

She added: "There are an obscene amount of prizes there, like four A4 pages of prizes.

"It ranges from prizes that would be more ideal for an auction like a weekend ski trip for two to teeth whitening treatments."

Donations can be made via the family fundraising page.

Tickets will also be available on the day for those paying by cash. Click here for more details.

The top five prizes will be drawn on Sunday evening with the remaining prizes allocated the following day due to the size of the raffle.
