Former X Factor contestant and Gravesend teenager Tamera Foster has been signed to Simon Cowell’s record company.

The 17-year-old, who was a contestant in the show last year, took to Twitter to confirm she has signed a deal with Syco Music.

She said: ''SO GUYS I HAVE NEWSSS. 'I'm The Newest member of syco music!! GET THAT WORKK! IM SO BLESSED TO HAVE MY DREAM JOB AT THE AGE OF 17, Thank God Always."

She is said to be the record label's youngest artist.

In January, the talented singer recently sang the national anthem to more than 20 countries when performed God Save The Queen in front of millions of viewers when the National Basketball Association came to London’s O2 arena as part of the NBA Global Games London 2014.

The former North West Kent College student sang before the Atlanta Hawks and the Brooklyn Nets began their match.

Tamera had spent the beginning of the year travelling around the country making appearances and gigging.

However, this weekend she took to Twitter to confirm the new record deal and said she was blessed to have her ‘dream job’.
