A young boy from Kent has landed a part in a Ridley Scott blockbuster.

Kit Cranston is starring in All The Money in the World, which is being premiered in the UK today.

The crime thriller stars big Hollywood names including Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg.

The eight-year-old will line-up alongside Mark Wahlberg after landing his first big screen role.

The Meopham youngster’s acting acumen was spotted by talent agency MB Talent as he honed his skills at performing arts school Make Believe Sevenoaks, which tutors children in dance, acting and singing.

Kit visited Italy to film the drama, based on the 1973 kidnapping of the son of American oil billionaire J Paul Getty.

He plays the part of Mark Getty, one of J Paul’s other sons in the film, which originally featured actor Kevin Spacey.

The principal of Make Believe Sevenoaks Kim Thursfield said: “Kit is incredibly confident and I knew he would be perfect for the agency.

“I am so proud to have one of my own students being so successful.

“Kit goes on so many auditions and I am looking forward to what the future holds for him.”

The story is being written by David Scarpa and is expected to closely follow real life events, which saw the kidnappers blackmail the Getty family in order to secure a $2.9m ransom before setting the teenager free.

In addition to Hollywood heavyweight Wahlberg, Kit is joined in the cast by Michelle Williams, who starred in Martin Scorcese’s Shutter Island.

Kit, who said he was excited and not nervous at all about the prospect of appearing in the film, is one of around 3,500 children who take part in Make Believe classes across the country.

Founder Joel Kern said: “I could not be prouder. This is exactly why we do what we do and I’m delighted that a special young boy such as Kit is achieving such wonderful things."

Make Believe is based at Lady Boswell’s Church of England Primary School in Plymouth Drive, Sevenoaks.
