Kent’s first confirmed case of swine flu has been identified in the west of the county.
NHS West Kent, the primary care trust which covers west Kent including Maidstone, Tonbridge, and areas of north Kent including Darford and Swanely, said one case was confirmed on Sunday.
Dr Jackie Spiby, NHS West Kent’s Director of Health Improvement said: "This is the first confirmed case in the county.
"A man from the West Kent area has been tested and found to have the virus, having recently travelled from the US.

"NHS West Kent is working closely with the Health Protection Agency to identify people who have had close contact with this gentleman and ensure they have appropriate treatment.
"If anyone is worried, we would encourage them to call the swine flu information line on 0800 1513 513. If a person has flu-like symptoms, they should stay at home and contact NHS Direct on 0845 4647 or phone their GP."
