Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish believes the signing of Calum Willock will prove a significant development for the club.

The 28-year-old striker has made more than 150 Football League appearances, as well as winning three international caps for St Kitts and Nevis.

He put pen-to-paper for the Fleet on Saturday and Daish said: "Calum has got loads of experience, which will be good for the younger lads in the team.

"He will give us a physical presence up front. He’s mobile and can score goals. All in all, he’s a significant acquisition for the club."

Willock started his career at Fulham before moving on to Peterborough – where he made 72 appearances between 2003-06, Brentford and Port Vale.

He then dropped into non-league football, turning out for Stevenage, Cambridge United and Crawley, for whom he played in a goalless draw at Stonebridge Road last season.

Daish added: "Clint is another player with lots of experience. He’s also a bubbly character who’s good to have around the dressing room."

Ebbsfleet play their second pre-season friendly on Saturday, at home to Gillingham (kick-off 2.30pm).

Daish said: "It’s great to have our neighbours coming down here, especially as Andy Hessenthaler is back in charge of the Gills again."
