Two people have died after a serious crash on A2 between Pepper Hill and Bean

Two people died after a crash on the A2 last night.

The road, has now reopened after the smash which involved two cars.

No other details are being release at this stage and the London-bound carriageway at Pepper Hill has now reopened.

The crash, which happened shortly before 11pm resulted in the road being closed for about 11 hours.

Highways England had warned the road was likely to remain shut until mid-morning while police investigations continued at the scene, but it reopened ahead of schedule just after 7am.

The closure was in place between the B262 at Pepper Hill and B255 at Bean.
