MacArthur, of Ivy Close, Gravesend, was charged with attempting to operate equipment beneath clothing of another without consent while in the same town on July 7, 2021.

Prosectuor Alan Balneaves told the court the young girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had just turned 15 and was walking to school in her uniform when MacArthur “approached from an alleyway” and tried to take a photo up her skirt with his Samsung mobile phone.

He added: “Fortunately for the victim the picture was of the pavement.”
