A man has been arrested following a 30-mile-car chase this afternoon.

Police began the pursuit of the man in Diamond Court, Sheerness, and arrested him on the A2 at Cobham.

He is currently in police custody being questioned on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, drink driving and driving with no insurance.

The chase followed a call to police reporting that a car had been stolen at 2.04pm.

Officers located the car and the driver was brought to a stop at 2.38pm.
