Gravesend man to appear in court after allegedly stealing crates of lager and assaulting worker in New Ash Green

A man has been charged after allegedly stealing crates of lager from a shop and assaulting a staff member.

Suspected thief Gavin Blackston, of Haynes Road, Gravesend, will appear at Medway Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 8.

The 30-year-old was arrested at around 8.30pm on Saturday, September 7, after an incident at a store in The Row, New Ash Green.

Police stopped a van in a car park near Parrock Street, Gravesend, where they detained Blackston.

He was later charged with possessing a knuckle duster and driving while disqualified and without insurance.
