A Londoner has been charged with burglary after a house was broken into in October.
Taylord Oldham, of Chesterton, East London, allegedly targeted a house in Coombe Road, Gravesend, on Wednesday, October 9.
The 28-year-old was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal damage on Monday, November 11, after glass in a back door of the property was broken.
Items stolen from the property include perfume, cash and a mobile phone.
Oldham appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 12, where he was released on bail to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, December 10.
Police are advising people to take certain steps to keep their house secure.
They explained most burglaries happen on weekdays when residents are out, so people should leave keys, cash and expensive items out of view, use timer switches on lights, keep gates locked and put any bikes, tools or garden items locked away.
