A teenager who was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a schoolboy was hit by a minibus has been released under investigation.
The youngster, from the Gravesend area, was quizzed by police earlier this month following the death of Szymon Jan Lecznar.
The Northfleet Technology College student passed away in hospital after suffering multiple injuries.
An inquest was opened yesterday into his death where coroner Roger Hatch heard Szymon lived at Holmes Court, Fenners Marsh, Gravesend.
The brief hearing heard he died at Darent Valley Hospital of a head injury.
The incident happened in Vale Road, Northfleet, close to the junction with Colyer Road and Park Avenue at around 8.25am on February 2 as the 11-year-old walked to school.
Since the tragedy, a growing number of flowers, cards and basketballs have been laid on the pavement near the scene in Szymon's memory and the college released a statement paying tribute to their "talented and enthusiastic" Year 7 student.
The arrested teenager – who was also a pedestrian – was released on bail until today but police said he has since been released under investigation pending further inquires.
