Nine memorial services were held across the borough at the First and Second World War Commonwealth Graves.

More than 300 crosses were laid at churches and cemeteries across Gravesend on Wednesday, October 31 and November 1.

Mayor of Gravesham, Cllr David Hurley, said: "The past couple of days have been very moving.

"It has been an honour to pay tribute and to be able to lay crosses on the graves of those that lost their lives for us.

"We still have several Remembrance events including Windmill Hill Gardens on 11 November at 11am. I hope to see lots of people there."

There will be a First World War history day at Gravesend Borough Market, in High Street, on Saturday, November 3 between 10am and 3pm.

An array of replica uniforms and weaponry will be on show for the public.
