Thomas Carpenter, of Gravesend admits driving while more than three times the legal limit

A motorist who got behind the wheel more than three times the legal limit has been banned from the road for two years.

Thomas Carpenter, 55, was caught driving a Fort Transit in Saddington Street, Gravesend, in April while over the legal limit.

Carpenter, of Dickens Road, Gravesend, was pulled over and given a breath test.

Carpenter was pulled over in Saddingston Street

He gave a reading of 118 micogrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit is 35.

Carpenter appeared before magistrates in Medway earlier this month and admitted the offence.

Magistrates banned him from driving for 24 months and ordered him to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and pay £85 costs.
