The opening of the new Lidl store in Coldharbour Road, Gravesend, has been pushed back.

A provisional opening day had been set for Thursday October 14, with the Mayor of Gravesham Cllr Lyn Milner set to officiate at a ribbon-cutting event.

However the company has confirmed a new opening date will be scheduled for the store - which is due to bring 40 new jobs to Gravesend.

Planning permission for the supermarket was granted in January by Gravesham Borough Council and building work began in March, with the aim to open in Autumn this year.

The new shop will be the second Lidl store in Gravesend and will feature a sales area of 1,325m², a bakery, customer toilet as well as parking for both bicycles and cars along with two electric vehicle charging spaces.
