New look Ebbsfleet get pre-season off to a winning start

Only two recognised players featured for the Fleet as they won their first pre-season match, 1-0 at Aveley on Monday.

Keeper Lance Cronin (pictured) and PASE product Steven Springett were joined by 20 trialists as the Fleet used all 11 substitutes during the 90 minutes.

The only goal of the game came in the 22 minute when Pascal Ebigbo scored from 20 yards.

The 22-year-old has previously been playing in Sweden with Bodens.

Chances were few and far between for both sides, although Fleet boss Liam Daish was delighted with his team of rookies.

"You can't really judge players until you get into real games at any sort of level and it was a good run out for us," he said.

"We had a decent shape, that was the first time they've ever played together. They've all come from half-decent backgrounds, supposedly bigger clubs where they've been coach and should know what the game is about.

"We made a lot of changes but we didn't look like we were starting from scratch."
