Firefighters called to fire in Wallis Park, Northfleet, as woman and kitten escape

Emergency services were called to a first-floor flat fire.
Firefighters attended the incident in Wallis Park, Northfleet today just before midday.
Crews entered the building equipped with breathing apparatus and extinguished a fire in the bedroom.
One woman was tended to by the ambulance service suffering from smoke inhalation, before being taken to hospital.
A kitten also escaped the fire uninjured.
The cause of the fire is not yet determined.
