Police were called to Gravesend town centre on New Years Eve following reports of young people causing a nuisance.

A spokesman said officers were called to St George's Shopping Centre in Gravesend at 9.55pm on Tuesday, December 31.

Police were seen outside Mcdonald's at around 10pm New Years Eve (25721043)

They added: "The group left the area and dispersed shortly after the call was received."

Police vehicles were seen parked outside McDonald's at around 10pm.

McDonald's spokesman, Nial Connacher said: "The restaurant was closed at 10pm in line with our advertised festive trading times.

"A police van was parked outside the store from 9.30pm onwards and we believe this was part of a wider presence/patrol in the town centre ahead of the NYE celebrations.

"There were no incidents in or around the store at that time."
