Police helicopter deployed following reports of serious assault in Erskine Road, Vigo, near Gravesend

A police helicopter was used to track down two men suspected to have been involved in a serious assault in a quiet village.

Officers chased a vehicle and two arrests were made in Erskine Road, in Vigo, Gravesend.

Quantities of cocaine and cannabis were also seized.

Jimmy Capper, 30, of Medhurst Gardens, Gravesend, and Adam Cooke, 26, of Pearsons Green Road, Brenchley, Tonbridge, were both later charged by investigators on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent at a property in Meopham at around 8.50pm on April 24.

They were also charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.

Mr Cooke has been additionally charged with dangerous driving.

Both men appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on April 26 where they were remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on May 27.
