Ladbrokes in Gravesend

A teenage robber stole hundreds of pounds in a raid on a Gravesend betting shop.

The balaclava-clad youth, aged about 16 or 17, emptied the contents of the till at Ladbrokes after menacing staff with a large pole or piece of wood.

He persuaded staff to unlock the door of the Rochester Road shop (pictured right) before threatening two workers, taking the cash and walking out.

The robber is described as white, slim and 5ft 5in. He was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms, a black anorak with a Nike symbol, black balaclava and black woollen gloves.

Neither of the staff members were injured in the robbery, at about 6.50pm on Tuesday, January 5.

Police would also like to speak to two men – slim and white, in their late teens – who were in the shop shortly before the robbery.

Anyone with any information is asked to phone DC Geoff McCreery on 01474 366 091 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
