A family's car went up in flames in a double arson attack while they slept.

The Renault Megane was completely destroyed in the blaze on the driveway of a house in Mollison Rise, Gravesend.

Another car, a BMW, failed to take light in the incident shortly after midnight on Monday.

Two fire crews from Thames-side station spent about an half-and-a-half at the scene.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire and are appealing for anyone with information or who witnessed suspicious activity to come forward.

Phone Det Con Dave Holmes at North Kent Police Station on 01474 366091 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
