Well regarded Gravesham historian, Tony Larkin, to be given fitting send after his funeral

Prominent Gravesham historian Tony Larkin will be given a funeral cortege around the town.

After Mr Larkin’s funeral at St John The Evangelist R C Church, on Thursday, January 25, which starts at 11am and is expect to last until 12pm, his body will be taken around the streets he regularly visited.

The procession will leave the church and head along Parrock Street onto Lord Street where it will take a left onto Windmill Street.

The floral hearse, which will be followed by horse and glass carriage where his coffin will lay, and three limousines, will take a right onto Woodville Place, continuing on Wrotham Road and taking a left onto Rathmore Road.

It will then carry on through Darnley Road where it will take a right at the crossroads of New Road and Bath Street, where it will go through the heart of the town centre.

The funeral cortege will then head up Stone Street, through Windmill Street, taking a left at Clarence Place, where it will cut through Parrock Street onto Wellington Street.

From there it will go along Milton Road towards the promenade.

After its visit to the promenade’s gardens it will go up Ordnance Road, through Parrock Street, to Windmill Street where it will head to Gravesend Cemetery on Old Road West.
