A person has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and pedestrian.

Valley Drive in Gravesend was blocked in both directions, with police pictured at the scene.

The accident happened at around 3.30pm, near to the junction with Hillside Avenue.

There were delays in and around the area as a result.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: “SECAmb were called at approximately 3:19pm today to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Valley Drive in Gravesend.

“Crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before taking them to Medway Maritime Hospital for further medical treatment.”

At around 5.20pm, the road was reopened and delays have since cleared.
