Chimney collapse in Range Road, Gravesend, shuts road

Fire crews and police were sent to a house which was "falling down".

Two fire engines and a height vehicle were called to reports of a partial chimney collapse in Gravesend yesterday afternoon.

Crews removed loose bricks making the scene in Range Road safe.

They arrived at around 2.50pm and were gone by 4.20pm.

Police officers were alerted to the incident at around 3.15pm yesterday and a special constable and PCSO closed the road whilst KFRS dealt with the incident.

A spokesman for the police specials unit said: "Last job of the shift assisting KFRS with a house that is falling down in Gravesend. #SupportingOurColleagues #Partnership #RoadClosure."
