A popular roadside cafe in Gravesend is set to appear on the nation's TV screens for the start of a new BBC One drama.

The Interceptor, a eight-part series about a surveillance team tracking Britain's most wanted criminals, airs on Wednesday at 9pm.

The production team visited Gravesend in March 2014 where they filmed at Nell's Cafe, an old style truck stop and the A2 alongside it.

Created by Tony Saint, the man behind Margaret Thatcher: Long Walk to Finchley, The Interceptor stars include Breaking and Entering actor O.T. Fagbenle, Trevor Eve from Waking The Dead and former EastEnder Jo Joyner.

The show is the latest to be filmed at Gravesend after production crews for Babylon, Great British Railway Journeys and Age of Heroes also filmed in the town.
