There ain’t no party like an S Club party and more than 10,000 people will enjoy just that at this year’s Riverside Festival.
Having racked up four number one hits during their heyday in the late nineties and early noughties, three former members of S Club 7 will be the headline act when they reunite on stage in Gravesend this coming Saturday (July 22).
Jo, Bradley, and Tina will be performing some of the group’s most popular tracks during a 30-minute set, including Don’t Stop Movin’, Never Had A Dream Come True, and Reach.
“We’re really looking forward to it,” said Bradley.
“Everyone can expect all the classics and all the numbers everyone knows.”
Jo added: “Our music stands the test of time, so we’re excited to be singing our old hits to a Gravesend crowd.”
Their set will follow MOBO award-winning RnB and hip-hop group Big Brovaz and Nadia from Booty Luv, with the former to perform songs like Favourite Things and Nu Flow.
Away from the main stage, music shop Elephant Music will be running the Band Stand, with plenty of local musicians and singers expected to perform.
For those who want to take a break from the tunes, there will be plenty else on offer throughout the day at Gordon Promenade and the adjoining Fort Gardens.
It will feature a traditional Summer Fayre in the Fort Gardens and the usual food stalls and fairground, plus a sports green where you can try your hand at lots of different activities and meet local sports clubs.
Gravesham council has organised the event in its current format for four years and it will once again be free.
Cabinet Member for sports, leisure and arts, Cllr Sandra Garside, said: “We know that the Riverside Festival is enjoyed by so many because every year we get a really strong crowd of people who come to enjoy it.
“There is a lot to look forward to on the day and there will be something for everyone.”
It will start at 11am and run throughout the day to 7.30pm.
