Man dies after collapsing with cardiac arrest at Sainsbury's in Pepper Hill in Northfleet

A man suffered a cardiac arrest and died at a Northfleet superstore despite attempts by staff, members of the public and paramedics to save his life.

The man, aged 58, collapsed at the Sainsbury's branch in Pepper Hill just after 5pm yesterday.

Two ambulances and a paramedic car went to the scene.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance expressed their gratitude to those who were trying to assist the man.

He said: "We would like to say thank you for everything they did.

"Our crews continued to try to resuscitate the gentleman at the scene, but sadly he died."

The man was a husband, father and grandfather.
