A bin fire in a school's toilets was started using toilet rolls, according to the fire service.
The small blaze happened at Northfleet School for Girls, in Hall Road, Gravesend, just before 10am.
No pupils were injured and no major damages were caused, however, an email was sent round to parents informing them of the fire.
Head teacher Chris Norwood said: "This morning there was a small fire in a toilet in one of our buildings, the reason for which is known and being addressed. This was swiftly dealt with by Kent Fire and Rescue Service and no students were harmed.
“We moved students to other rooms today but the building is ready to use again tomorrow morning. School is continuing to operate as normal.
“I would like to commend students who were excellent during the evacuation, staying calm, very well behaved and working with the school.
“We are aware of students in exams, they have been given the full allotted time and the exam board has been informed so that special dispensation can be applied as appropriate.”
Spokesman for the fire service, Kirsty Gearey, added: "Two fire engines attended at around 10am today, and crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire in toilets.
"Toilet rolls were alight, and the fire is believed to have been started deliberately. There were no reported injuries.”
