Services cancelled between Gravesend and Strood after freight train derails near Higham

A freight train has derailed near Higham.
The incident happened late last night and has caused damage to the track and signalling system between Gravesend and Strood.
The line will be fixed over the Easter weekend and the will reopen on Tuesday morning at the latest.
Trains cannot run between Gravesend and Strood and shuttle train service will operate between Strood and Faversham.
Replacement buses area running between Rochester and Ebbsfleet International.
If you're travelling between London Victoria and Rochester, Southeastern has advised passengers to get a direct service or use your ticket on the London Underground via reasonable routes at no extra cost.
Train companies are currently running a reduced service to help keyworkers get to work during the coronavirus pandemic.
Chief constable Alan Pughsley reminded people to stay at home during the Easter weekend as his officers had to hand out fines to people sunbathing.
