War heroes honoured at Remembrance Day services across Dartford and Gravesham

This week's Dartford and Gravesend Messengers are full of touching pictures from the weekend's Remembrance Day services, as people of all ages paid tribute to our fallen war heroes.

Locals joined veterans and local dignitaries at Dartford’s Central Park and Gravesham's Windmill Gardens for the main services, but our favourite picture was snapped at Bawley Bay in Royal Pier Road, Gravesend.

Two-week-old William Bester was brought to the merchant navy service by mum Louise Brooker, proudly sporting the cap of his great-great-grandfather, Dickie Valentine.

It looks as though little William had no trouble observing the two minutes' silence.

For more pictures from a host of services across both boroughs, grab a copy of the Dartford or Gravesend Messenger tomorrow (Thursday).
