A teenager needed treatment for puncture wounds after being bitten by a dog.

Molly Fenton, 19, was walking along Dene Holm Road, Northfleet, with a friend when the pet, which she believes is a Jack Russell, attacked her, latching on to her leg.

She said the owner pulled the dog away and apologised, but left. Molly needed hospital treatment for a painful wound.

She said the dog was a “stocky Jack Russell with a white body with brown and black spots, and a black face with brown going down between the eyes towards the nose”.

The woman owner is described as white, in her late 30s to early 40s, 5ft 6in with a large build and was possibly wearing a Christmas hat.

Molly said: “As soon as I walked past with my friend, the dog ran and jumped up and bit me on my right leg just above my knee.

“The owner stood there and finally pulled the lead hard to get the dog to let go of my leg. She said sorry and that it was a rescue dog.

“She never asked if I was okay and left very quickly.

“I had to have a dressing on the bite for two days to make sure it wouldn’t get infected.”

Police are investigating the attack, which happened at about 5pm on Boxing Day.
