Kent Fire and Rescue and SECAmb rescue man after two car crash between Coldharbour and Earl Road, Northfleet

Firefighters and ambulance crews worked together to release a man from a trapped car in Northfleet earlier today.

The man was involved in a two-car crash at the junction of Coldharbour Road and Earl Road which happened just after midday today.

Three fire engines and an ambulance were at the scene.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to reports of a two-car collision.

He said there was a man and a woman at the scene, but only the man, who was one of the drivers and in his forties, was taken to hospital.

He was fully conscious and treated for back and abdominal pain before being transported to Medway Maritime Hospital.
