This is the hilarious moment a three-year-old boy was spotted fishing in the middle of a flooded street.

Footage circulated on social media showed the toddler casting a rod into the huge stream of running water near his grandad’s home in Gravesend.

Families in Clipper Crescent were left with low water pressure and risked soaking wet feet if they attempted to leave their homes after a burst water main flooded theirs and neighbouring streets.

The Windhover Way entry was rendered completely inaccessible as drain water filled the road and covered the pavement.

It’s the second time it’s happened in the space of two days this week.

Tony Dossetter, who has lived in neighbouring Leander Drive for 25 years and took the video which got plenty of likes and shares, said the issue is reoccurring and has been happening since before he moved in.

“We were told when we moved in that every time there is heavy rain it floods in front of our house as there are soakaways not proper drainage along the road,” he said.

“The problem we get is when drivers think it's clever to go through at pace, which then sends the water down our drive.”

He added: “It was a burst water main which happened on Monday morning, then went again yesterday morning (July 9) .

“The road has been closed where they are working and pump trucks are still on standby. Certain areas have lost water pressure.”

But it didn’t stop Tony’s three-year-old grandson Fraser from having a good time as he grabbed his grandad’s fishing road and made the most of the high water levels.

A spokesman for Southern Water said: “The burst was a result of a faulty valve.

“Both were fixed with our teams going into action as soon as the problem was detected.

“No homes were flooded, only the street.”
