Firefighters have issued a key safety message after a blaze at a home was caused by a disposable barbecue.
The fire in the garden at a property in Scott Road, Gravesend was sparked by the outdoor cooker.
Now, the fire service is warning people to make sure they properly discard the item if they use them in their homes or out and about.
Two fire engines were called to the blaze which had spread to garden decking and a wooden bench at 1.45am on Tuesday.
Crews were at the scene for about 20 minutes bringing the flames under control.
No injuries were reported.
A fire service spokesman said: "Following the fire, crews are reminding everyone to only light barbecues on a steady, non-flammable surface, and ensure they are kept well away from any property, trees, fences and garden furniture.
"Disposable barbecues retain heat for a long time, so you should always ensure it has fully cooled before binning or leaving it unattended."
