A woman has been badly injured in a crash with a lorry.

A heavy goods vehicle and a Ford Mondeo collided in Dover Road, at the junction with Thamesway, Northfleet, at 10.40am yesterday (Thursday).

The female driver of the Mondeo, who lives locally and is in her 50s, was taken to Darent Valley Hospital with serious injuries. She remains in hospital in a stable condition, said a police spokesman.

The driver of the heavy goods vehicle has been interviewed by police. No arrests have been made.
