Sports courts in Higham have been officially unveiled after an £80,000 makeover.
The flood-lit tennis, netball and football courts in School Lane were installed more than 25 years ago and little has been done to upgrade them since.
Now, thanks to a year-long fundraising campaign by the Higham Village Sports Association they have been enlarged, re-surfaced and new floodlighting has been put in.
The association was reformed two years ago and secretary Mike Holmes has been spearheading the drive for improvements which he hopes will encourage more people to use them.
He successfully got funding from Sport England, Veolia Environmental Trust, Kent Sport and Physical Activity Service and Higham Parish Council.
Mayor of Gravesham, Cllr John Caller performed the honours at a ceremony attended by members from the association, newly-formed Higham Netball Club and Eagles FC.
A new tennis club is due to start meeting at the centre soon.
