They were held on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm.

Both have been bailed until Monday, September 25, while further inquiries are carried out.

A dispersal order was also in place at the time targetting anti-soial behaviour in the town, but that ended at midday today.

The order was imposed after a teenager was charged following a large disturbance in Gordon Promenade East, off Canal Road last month, which left two people with slash wounds.

Anybody who wishes to report instances of anti-social behaviour can do so online via the Kent Police website. If a crime is in progress, lease don’t hesitate to call 999.
