Police have issued an arrest warrant for a man who failed to turn up at court in connection with a fatal crash on the A2.
Ahmed Mohamed, 28, from Plumstead, south east London, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
It follows the death of 46-year-old Mark Sharp on the coast-bound carriageway near Dartford on March 1.
Mohamed was summoned to appear before Medway magistrates on Tuesday, but he did not show up.
A second defendant, Stuart Lomas, 59, from Welling, did appear to face a charge of dangerous driving and will now be at Maidstone Crown Court on November 1.
Mr Sharp, an HGV driver from Gravesend, was driving a Nissan Micra at the time of the crash. Shortly after his death, Mr Sharp’s family paid tribute to him.
In a statement, his family said: “Mark was sadly taken from his family in the most tragic circumstances imaginable.
“Mark, a 46-year-old HGV driver, was born in Dulwich and lived in Gravesend with his beloved wife.
“The son, brother, husband, and uncle will be remembered fondly as a gentleman with a happy, caring and generous manner to his loving family and friends.
“The keen cook, gardener and classic car enthusiast will be sorely missed.”
The crash happened between Leyton Cross and junction 2 of the M25.
