Arrests as large police presence spotted in Gravesend town centre in response to fight between two men

Two men have been arrested after a fight broke out following reports a woman was assaulted and a vehicle struck with a metal barrier.

Confused residents woke to the sound of sirens in Gravesend in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A large police presence was spotted in Gravesend town centre

Officers were called to Queen Street shortly after 2.30am following reports of a disturbance.

A video shared with KentOnline showed a large police presence outside the town market with atleast five cars in attendance.

It is reported that a woman was assaulted and that two men were then involved in a fight. No serious injuries were reported.

A vehicle linked to one of the men was also damaged, after it was allegedly repeatedly struck with a metal barrier.

Two men, aged 26 and 27, were arrested in connection with assault and criminal damage offences.

Both were later released pending further investigation.
