Sevenoaks Inspector Tim Price warned residents to remain on guard against cold callers who may turn up on doorsteps touting for business.
He said: "We are continuing to investigate a number of complaints made by elderly residents, where it is alleged that excessive amounts of money have been obtained for work outside properties.
"Our advice remains the same for anyone dealing with cold callers. Do not deal with people who knock on your door offering work on your home or garden and if you have any concerns about their behavior call the police."
