Attempted armed robbery in Gravesend

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted armed robbery at a restaurant in Gravesend this morning.

Officers were called to the Harvester on Rochester Road at 9.05am after staff said they had been confronted by two men wearing balaclavas who threatened them.

The two men had entered the rear of the building while staff were taking in their morning delivery.

One of the suspects threatened staff with an object they described as a gun and ordered that a safe was opened.

The two men left empty-handed and on foot.

It is believed they ran towards Lower Higham Road and shortly after were seen crossing Rochester Road, running towards Thong Lane.

The men are described as being white, in their late teens wearing dark clothes and balaclavas.

Anyone with information should contact Kent Police on 101, quoting reference CAD 22-0302.
