Two fire crews were called out to a small blaze in the basement of a three-storey building.

The fire broke out at 2am this morning in the semi-detached property used as flats in The Grove, Gravesend.

A thermal imaging camera was used to locate the source of the fire and a ventilation fan cleared the smoke from all floors of the property.

Nobody was injured but a pregnant woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.

A man who lives in one of the flats said: "The woman who was taken to hospital is doing fine, she came back this morning after staying at the hospital for blood tests."

Firefighters left the property at 3am and the cause of the fire is being investigated by police.
