The BBC’s flagship political debate programme Question Time will be filmed in Kent today.
The hour-long show is taking place in Gravesend with seasoned presenter Fiona Bruce chairing.
The programme was last in the riverside town in 2010, when previous host David Dimbleby was in the chair. It was filmed at the Woodville Halls.
Tonight Fiona will be joined by Sevenoaks MP and Minister for Pensions Laura Trott (Con), Labour’s shadow Secretary for Northern Ireland, Peter Kyle, Lib Dem MP Munira Wilson, columnist Janet Street-Porter and entrepreneur and former star of BBC’s Dragon’s Den, Theo Paphitis.
Ahead of the show, Fiona said: “Question Time is in Gravesend in Kent this week and if you live anywhere near there we would love to see you as part of our audience.
“Don’t just shout at the telly come and be part of our programme.”
The programme is recorded “live” in one take, and is available on BBC iPlayer at 8pm and broadcast on BBC One at 10.40pm.
Previous episodes have also been filmed at The Quarterhouse theatre in Folkestone in 2016, just before the EU referendum, and twice in Canterbury – at the Gulbenkian Theatre in 2014, when comedian Russell Brand and UKIP leader Nigel Farage were both on the panel, and again at the Malthouse Theatre in Canterbury in April last year, when the city’s Archbishop joined in.
One episode was unusually filmed from Terminal 1 at Dover Western Docks in March, 2018 and featured Keir Starmer and actor Brian Cox.
Another was filmed later the same year at the Mick Jagger Centre in Dartford.
