A woman is hoping to track down the mystery hero who handed in her purse, after she left it a petrol station toilet.
Beautician Evelina Iljinaite feared the purse and £400 inside would be stolen after she left it at the Shell station on the A2 near Gravesend on Friday.
Having only realised she'd left it when she got home to Gravesend, she returned to the station and was overjoyed to find it had been handed in.
Staff at the station found the man on CCTV and Evelina was able to post a CCTV picture of him on Facebook in an effort to find him.
She wrote: "I’m looking for this amazing person that took my purse from the toilet with all cash in it and left it at the till at the Shell petrol station Gravesend near A2," she said. "If anyone knows this guy please tag him to this post as I’d like to reward him! There’s not enough people in this world like him."
Originally from Lithuania, Evelina, 27, has been living in Gravesend for eight years, and works as a beautician.
She also explained how the money had been her week's wages, which she needed to cover bills.
"There was around £400 cash, all my bank cards and driving licence," she added. "I went back to the petrol station, checked the toilet but the purse wasn’t there so I ask at the till 'did anyone find it?' They said I’m very lucky as some young guy handed it to them and didn’t touch any of my money.
"I was so excited. Even staff at the petrol station said they saw that I was shaking and didn’t have words to explain how happy and surprised I was.
"Not many people would do what this man did. He didn’t even know how important this money was to me. Other people wouldn’t care. That was my week's wages that was supposed to go to my bank account so I can pay my bills. I believe karma will pay him back but I’d really want to thank him personally too."
Evelina's post on Facebook also drew a wave of support for the man, with many praising his actions and hoping he could be found.
"Don't know him but a fantastic human," said one commenter, while another added: "Fair play to the guy. Not enough honest people like this man around anymore."
Another said: "He could have an extra payday today. But he didn’t use it even if he didn’t know how important that is to the person that owns this purse. Need to find him!"
