A couple have been taken to hospital after a Gravesend house fire early today.
Around 15 firefighters were called to Haig Gardens at just before 1.30am after a blaze broke out in a walk-in wardrobe the bedroom.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said a woman was treated for breathing in smoke and her partner suffered burns to his hands and feet.
Both were treated at the scene by firefighters before being taken to hospital by ambulance.
Thames-side watch manager Vicki Brown said: "Once we had extinguished the fire, the couple explained that the woman had been asleep in bed and woke to see a glow in the room.
"She opened the wardrobe door and discovered the blaze, her partner was alerted by her screaming and rushed to her aid.

"After taking her to safety he returned to the room and attempted to remove clothing from the wardrobe to tackle the fire."
Fire-damaged property, including clothes and electrical items, could be seen outside the home this morning.
Vicki added: "If you're unlucky enough to have a fire in your home, don't attempt to put it out yourself.
"Always remember, buildings and possessions can be replaced but your life can't. Get out of your home, closing the doors behind you to stop the fire spreading and call the fire service."
After extinguishing the blaze, crews used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the smoke from the house.
The cause of the fire is unknown, but the first floor of the house was damaged by heat and smoke.
Crews were on the scene for about two hours.
