An impressive firework display went ahead as planned last night with increased security.
Gravesham Borough Council (GBC) made a number of changes to this year’s show for the safety of visitors.
Following a number of anti-social incidents last year, including some people bringing their own fireworks, it decided to change the date to Thursday instead of the usual Friday.
Additional security, extra marshals and police officers were also in attendance yesterday at Gravesend's Riverside Leisure Area to help patrol the area.
The musical firework display started earlier than past years too, beginning at 7pm.

A council spokesman confirmed the event went ahead as planned and they did not have any issues reported.
It was thought the spectacle would not go ahead as a thunderstorm warning was issued overnight but that did not stop the display.
