Firefighters treated a father for the effects of smoke inhalation after a fire in a kitchen.
Crews were called to the ground-floor flat in The Grove, Gravesend, at 8.40pm last night.
The fire had started after cooking was left on the electric hob and spread to the rest of the kitchen.
The room was destroyed by the flames but the rest of the flat suffered only smoke damage.
The family living there, a couple and their two year old child, were safely out of the building when firefighters arrived.
The Red Cross were called to the scene to temporarily re-home the family.
Crews had left the property by 9.30pm.
